About Me

I want to help you know a little about me and let you know how to get the best out of a piper. I was born with the pipes ringing in my ears from the night of the Common Riding. I can’t think of a time when I didn’t love piping or want to be a piper. I am a very lucky man I get to do what I love for a living. I am a professional piper who is based in Stirling. I cover Scotland, the UK and Europe.

I am passionate about piping and delivering performances, which my customers love. This takes hard work and diligent preparation, but I love every second of it. I play an outstanding and beautiful set of pipes. This takes a great deal of work and skill to maintain, but it is the core of delivering a beautiful performance. I even bring a variety of finely tuned chanters, so I can guarantee you the best sound for your venue. I have current videos of me playing so you can see and hear that I am a man of my word. Just as important as a beautiful bagpipe, is hard practice to maintain and improve your playing. I am a successful solo and band competitor. I practice a minimum of 3 hours and play my pipes every day. I have been playing the pipes for over 50 years and have never lost my desire to constantly improve my playing and performance. I learn every day and love perfecting my art. I am proud to say I am taught by the greatest player and teacher of all, Willie Morrison of South Uist.

I am an ex Scots Guards Piper and only wear the absolute finest of uniforms. I always make sure both myself and my uniforms are immaculate. I have the bold red and blue of the Royal Stewart tartan and wear the Scots guards traditional dress which is used for playing for Royalty. I also have the soft muted blues and greens of the Ancient MacThomas. This is such an elegant beautiful Highland tartan and uniform.
